In God’s word, it is clear that Mary was exceedingly blessed as the one chosen to mother the Son of God.  Yet we have to be careful not to elevate her honor beyond what God calls for.  In fact, in Luke 11:27-28 (NKJV) We find this: ²⁷  And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!”  ²⁸  But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” So, Jesus indicates the larger blessing is from both hearing and following God’s word.  Chris preaches on Luke 1:39-45 and what it means to be truly blessed.
